At Think Cloud, you’re more than our client. You’re our collaborator.

In 2013, longtime architects and friends Sharon Ong and Foo Wen Hui founded Think Cloud Design Lab, a Kuala Lumpur-based architecture and design firm that makes spaces with you, not just for you.

Relationships are the brick and mortar of everything we do. We work intimately with local craftsmen to explore materials and actualize projects, as well as involve you at every stage of the process. Your input shapes the spaces we create.

We believe that diverse minds result in alchemy. That’s why we’re also fierce advocates for open studio culture. Our headquarters, Beyondto.co, is a synergistic coworking space where architects and other professionals are welcome to communicate and collaborate. Our community is how we enrich our work.

If you enjoy co-creating with passionate, seasoned ‘makers’, do reach out. Let’s build your castle in the clouds.

Ong Sharon - [DIPID Bsc Hons PGDip Arch (RGU) ARB RIBA LAM] studied architecture at Robert Gordon University. During her studies in Scotland, she travelled extensively which cultivated her interest and talent in design. At the same time, Sharon also took part in architecture competitions and won a number of student awards including The Best Student Award for MArch/ PgDip Advanced Architectural Studies Year 2007. Upon her graduation, Sharon enjoyed living and working in London. Since then Sharon has completed a few private and social housing projects. In the year 2009, she completed her Part 3 studies at Bartlett School of Architecture, London and received her professional architect’s qualification from the ARB/ RIBA. Upon returning to KL Sharon worked at C’Arch Architecture + Design during which she was involved in a number of large-scale development projects and from which she developed a passion for nuanced materiality and passive approaches to tropic buildings. Sharon combines practice with teaching and is currently a design studio tutor at UCSI University.

Ar. Foo Wen Hui - [MA Hons MArch (Edin) LAM PAM] Wen Hui studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh. During her time in the UK, she interned at a few practices including Adjaye Associates in London where she was first amazed by the design culture and ‘discovered’ her passion in architecture. She also spent some meaningful time at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh learning and teaching digital photography. Upon returning to Kuala Lumpur she joined C’Arch Architecture + Design where she experienced a wide range of project types including high-rise residential buildings. In search of a different kind of architecture that doesn’t involve sky-soaring reinforced concrete, Wen Hui has been involved in the design and construction of several community volunteer building projects in Malaysia and Thailand. While these experiences are challenging and enjoyable they are valuable insights as she self-proclaimed an advocate for vernacular tropical architecture. Wen Hui qualified as a registered architect in 2015. Apart from her practice Wen Hui also actively participates as a design critic at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, at UCSI University.

Kuan Fang - [BA Arch Hons (UK)]

She believes that architecture transcends physical structures, embracing the intangible qualities that inspire and connect individuals.

Melika - [BSc Arch Hons (UCSI)] Melika is passionate about sustainable architecture and creating a healthier space for everyone. In her free time, she enjoys hand and digital drawing and jogging.
