The young couple that bought this abandoned house wanted to celebrate its history, not erase it. So they wanted to remodel the home without replacing what was there before. With respect to their wishes, we kept the home intact and used its original arched veranda as the inspiration for the home’s design language, adding arched windows that echoed its curvature. At their behest, we also retained the original rambutan tree on the grounds. We loved how the new owners decided to add a new chapter to this home’s existing story, rather than rewriting it entirely.
