The project gets its name from the pool that divides the old and new sections of the house, but we like to think that being inside it makes you feel slightly underwater. We positioned windows at playful, unconventional angles and contexts, allowing natural lighting to touch upon the floors of the house. In addition to the arched veranda, we also retained and extended the existing pitch roof design. We designed the pitch roof to be appreciated from both inside and outside the house, structuring the roof at different heights rather like a staircase. In sequence, the roof is double-storied for the old house, then one and a half storeys, and finally single storied.
